Alternative splicing of pre-mRNA for a muscle protein called α-tropomyosin

Description
In smooth muscle (top), all the introns and exons 3, 10, and 11 are removed during processing. In striated muscle (bottom), all the introns and exons 2 and 12 are removed during processing. In this case, alternative splicing produces two different, tissue-specific forms of the same protein.
