(a) Cnidocytes, which contain stinging capsules called nematocysts, are situated in the tentacles. (b) The Portuguese Man-of-War (Physalia physalis) employs cnidocytes that can be lethal to humans. A gas-filled float allows the animal to stay on the surface of the water.
