Glaucoma. (a) A buildup of pressure within the eye cavities, often caused by a blockage of vessels that drain fluid, may damage the optic nerve at the back of the eyeball to result in a gradual loss of sight and blindness. (b) Glaucoma often causes reduced sight, such as the loss of the perimeter of a visual field as shown here.
