For patients who take prescription or over-the-counter drugs, herbal preparations can cause dan-gerous herb-drug interactions. They cannot be considered safe, simply because they are natural.. They do not necessarily need to be avoided, but should be discussed with a physician or pharmacist. Taking the herbal preparation separately from drugs may not help, depending on how long the drug(s) and herb(s) remain active in the body. |
