A force in the +y direction applied at the coordinates point x = 2.3 m, y = 1.4 m and it gives rise to a torque of 71 N · m about the origin. Find the magnitude of the force.

The lever arm (perpendicular distance from the force's line of action to the origin) is simply the x coordinate, 2.3m.
F*2.3 = 71

= 71/2.3 = 30.87 N

The y coordinate is not use.
