If the patient has decreased ADH, the renal tubules will not reabsorb water and the serum sodium level will increase. Cortisol and aldosterone will increase sodium and water reabsorption in the kidney, which tends to keep serum sodium stable. Somatostatin does not affect serum sodium levels.
