Post by: star on Feb 18, 2012 Possible answers include educational interventions (e.g., IEP, Picture Exchange Communication System, Speaks4me), medications to treat behavioral features that often accompany ASDs (e.g., aggression, impulsivity), and complementary and alternative medicine (e.g. nutritional therapies - these should be checked with the child's pediatrician before beginning them). Clinical trials also are underway to test the effectiveness of oxytocin for improving social function.
