Intramuscular injections are performed just caudal and ventral to the ear on the lateral neck area. Subcutaneous injections in smaller pigs can be performed on the inside of the flank along the abdominal wall. For larger pigs the loose area of skin caudal to the ear is used. The marginal ear vein is the most common site used for performing intravenous injections.
