The primary coil of a transformer has 100 turns and its secondary coil has 400 turns. If the ac current in the secondary coil is 2 A, what is the current in its primary coil?
A) 2 A
B) 8 A
C) 1/2 A
D) 1/4 A
E) 4 A

to transmit electric power long distance, high voltage is used, the generator produces power at 1000 V and it needs to be transported at 2,000,000 V. would a ste-up or step-down transformer be needed?

YOU WISH TO MAKE A TRANSFORMER THAT WILL TURN A NORMAL 120 V OUTLET VOLTAGE INTO 20 V. WHICH WILL HAVE MORE TURNS, THE PRIMARY OR THE SECONDARY?

Vs/Vp = Ns/Np
you are talking about a step down transformer here.
obviously secondary will have fewer turns.
