Explain to the caller that you are going to transfer the call. Be certain you transfer the caller to the right person. Before you transfer the caller, invite the caller to call you back if you have not referred him or her to the right person. Give the caller the name and the telephone number of the person to whom he or she is being transferred, so the caller can place the call again if he or she is disconnected as you transfer the call. Limit transfers as much as possible. |
