If you were a police officer and your immediate supervisor were sexually harassing you, what steps would you take to remedy the issue?  Identify the two traditional categories of sexual discrimination in this situation in explaining your response.
Do you believe supervisors should attempt to understand the communication characteristics of their Generation X and Millennial officers? Justify your response.

If my immediate supervisor was sexually harassing me, whether it is a quid pro quo or a hostile environment my first step is to tell them directly that they need to stop the behavior. If asking them to stop did not work than I would take it to the next person higher up or go to the human resource department and file an official complaint. If that did not correct the issue than a lawsuit might be in order. Even if my immediate supervisor did not believe his or her behavior was sexual harassment does not mean anything, the only thing that matters is that the behavior perceived by me is unwelcomed and has created an environment in which I do not want to work in.

I believe supervisors should attempt to understand some of the communication characteristics of generation X and millennial officers, juts like generation X and millennial officers should also understand their supervisor’s communication characteristics. If neither can meet in the middle than communication between the two is hindered, and if communication is hindered than the job is not getting done as it should and could lead to mistakes. These mistakes will then turn into a source of frustration between the two parties, where one blames the other and the entire problem could have been avoided if there was a willingness by both parties to learn how to communicate effectively between themselves even if it means understanding each other’s the way communication no matter how much they dislike it.
