Title: Fungi helpppp please Post by: hanaaaspongebob on Apr 23, 2024 Hi guys, I’ve got an exam and we’ve been given this beforehand. What kinda question do you think will be asked since I don’t know anything about it.
Excerpt Screening crop pathogenic fungi for mycoviruses Title: Re: Fungi helpppp please Post by: duddy on Apr 23, 2024 For this one, more information is needed :-\ I can't seem to understand what is being related here between diameter and time
Title: Re: Fungi helpppp please Post by: bio_man on May 1, 2024 This is probably a plaque assay of some sort.
Perhaps the susceptible fungi are grown on a petri dish, then they are inoculated with a viral solution of known variants known as F24VF and F24VI. What we're seeing here that as time goes on, both virus infect the cells, causing them to lyse (burst), forming clear areas called plaques. The size of these plaques can be used to estimate the concentration of the virus in the original sample. It is clear the fungi are more susceptible to F24VF since the diameter is larger within a shorter time frame. Like DUddy, that's the most I can make out of it :yelling: |
