Title: Dna sequence help Post by: hanaaaspongebob on Apr 29, 2024 I’ve got these two images, not sure what they show. I’ve got an exam on them but we haven’t got the questions yet. Can anyone help with what it shows or any ideas on what the question could be?

Firstly, a protospacer target DNA is a specific sequence of DNA that matches a portion of the DNA from which it was transcribed (for example from a foreign invader like a virus or plasmid).
In the context of CRISPR, protospacers are targeted by Cas proteins to recognize and cleave the foreign DNA. To do this, the Cas protein is guided by a complementary RNA molecule (see the part crRNA-sp2), bind to the target DNA and initiate a sequence-specific cleavage. Does that make sense so far? |
