Use the following to answer the questions below:

As of July 8, 2020, the national average price for a gallon of regular unleaded gasoline was $2.18. The prices for a sample of gas stations in the state of Illinois are provided.

$2.365$2.417$2.437$2.421$2.396$2.444$2.422$2.374$2.422$2.447
It is of interest to use this sample to compare the average gas price in Illinois to the national average.

Use the provided randomization distribution (based on 1,000 samples) to estimate the p-value for this sample. Use your p-value to make a decision about these hypotheses. Be sure to word your decision in the context of the problem. Include an assessment of the strength of your evidence.

A dotplot depicts the results of the randomization distribution based for 1,000 samples. The horizontal axis has markings from 1.98 to 2.40 in increments of 0.06. A series of dots is plotted vertically for certain markings on the horizontal axis. The plotted dots are approximately bell shaped. The series of densely plotted dots begin at 1.95 on the horizontal axis. The heights of the dots increase gradually with a few ups and downs and reach the peak of 37 dots at 2.17 on the horizontal axis. Then, the heights of dots decrease gradually with a few ups and downs and end at 2.39 on the horizontal axis. An expression below the horizontal axis reads, null equals 2.18. A text below the dotplot reads, Each symbol represents up to 2 observations. All values are approximate.
