graph each function using the slope and y-intercept

y=2x + 3    do I just do the 0 for x and y???  I can graph it on my calculator. Just making sure how to work the problem.

since it is a straight line, you would need two points to plot it
imagine like this,
if you have just one point , there are number of lines that can pass through that point, but you take another point on the line you want, you fix a particular line and that is exactly what is needed.
make 0 for x, you will get co ordinate as (0, value)
make 0 for y, you will get co ordinate as (value, 0)
now you have two points,
that is exactly the way that you have told to work out the problem, perfect method

y=2x + 3

Y-intercept is 3

slope is 2 / 1, in other words, rise is 2, run is 1.

Plot (0, 3) first... From that point, go up two, over one - plot point 2.

If f(x) = ?(x² – 50)?, what is the value of f(-5) ?

What is that question mark?

f(x) = ?(x² – 50)?

dude just substitute x = -5 so f(-5) = ((-5²)-50) = (25-50)= -25.

Therefore f(-5) = -25.

Nice try dude, but I am waiting for full described solution as it will more beneficial for students. In my opinion maths have more than one solution of a problem with same results like statistical graphs (http://www.tutorcircle.com/statistical-graphs-t2ZWp.html#).

So go do it your self. If you understand it from what we're saying, go make a full described solution.
