Post by: ThePsychic on Jun 30, 2012 A two-sided approach is generally more effective when the audience holds attitudes that are contrary to those of the speaker. This is even more pronounced when the audience is relatively well-educated. Ideally, the speaker would present two sides of the argument, and include counterarguments to refute the side the speaker opposes. With this approach, the audience may think that they've heard both sides, but one side is more strongly supported by the evidence.
