From 1845-1936, the Hudson's Bay Company tracked the collection of hare and lynx pelts. On a graph, the data shows a sinusoidal wave that is typical with predator-prey populations. Here is the graph, showing the "lag" between the hare and lynx populations:

My question says, "The lynx is a carnivore and for one lynx to survive it must consume many hares. Estimate the carrying capacity of this environment for the lynx population."

I had no idea how to go about this question at all, based on just the graph. I have a list of the specific data points as well, but I don't know if I'm supposed to use them to find the carrying capacity and/or how accurate I am supposed to be.  :(

I tried to average the high points on the graph  to see if they represented carrying capacity but I don't think that's the case... I know you should attempt the question first but I truly am 800% lost!  :s

Thank you so much for reading!
