Title: What jobs are best suited for a person with just and undergraduate degree in psychology?
Post by: ashy8286 on Mar 26, 2012
I have an undergraduate degree in psychology and I'm currently looking for a job where I can utilize my skills without having to go back to school for a masters degree. I work in a regular office setting right now doing odd jobs for the company. What are the best jobs to look for where I can actually use my degree?

Some government jobs in psychology require only a bachelor's degree, but they are not easy to get.  You could also assist a psychologist in private practice or a hospital, e.g. by helping administer psychological tests.  See attached link.

There arent any. Its a pshycology major, not an MS or PhD. Those will actually get you a job related to your field....

I too currently only hold a Bachelor Degree in Psychology.  I have a job with a place called Maple Star.  It is a business that helps place foster care children with foster parents in the community.  My job is to help the families through the adjustment period as well as work individually with each foster care assigned to my unit to help him/her get adjusted to school, get involved in community activities and community service and to report any behavioral issues to the social worker or case manager.  My title is Social Service Professional.

You could look for job/titles in the following:
Social Service Professional
Youth Counselor
Mental Health Aide
Mental Health Associate

Other positions you could qualify for but won't use quite as much psychology:
Receptionist
Customer Service Specialist
Human Resource Manager (Usually these are hard to come by though and will require starting at the bottom and working your way up)
College Financial Aid Counselor
College Recruiter
College Adviser (General Education)
