Title: I have an iron deficiency and just got my period. I feel very faint / weak.. is this because I'm loosing blood?

For the 2 days before I got my period my iron deficiency got REALLY bad (i was diagnosed in the beginning of july.) and now I have it and i feel kind of faint.. I was thinking this is because I'm loosing blood / iron?? Is this okay?? Thanks xx

yep having a heavy period will cause your iron deficiency to be worse
make sure you are taking your iron pills especially during your period
make sure you are getting plenty of fluids also

You need to be extra careful about your diet.  taking iron will help, also eating enriched grains, dark green veggies, meat(if you eat it).  Without iron in your blood you will have less energy and feel faint because your blood will not be able to carry as much oxygen. This is common for women in the menstrual cycle age.

That is not a good sign. You need to take iron supplements and eat foods rich in iron.
