How do you solve this equation: 18k-6k-14k=6

Please show your work. If you answer this, you are considered "smart" cause all the people i ask to solve this equation is too dumb.

18k - 6k - 14k = 6
- 2k = 6
k = - 3

ok, so there are two solutions in my mind. This is the first, using a mathematical approach:

18k-6k-14k=6
Combine terms and get:
-2k=6
Divide both sides by -2 and get
k= -3

Here is another solution, this time, using philosophy :p
k=thousand

thus: 18,000 - 6000 - 14000 = 6
Which means that this is not an equation.. :p haha..

this is very simple...
first step is to combine similar terms: 18k-6k-14k=-2K
-2K=6
then, divide both sides by -2
K=6/-2 or -3

18k - 6k -14k = 6
k(18 - 6 - 14) = 6
k(-2) = 6
k = 6/-2 = -6/2 = -3

18k - 6k - 14k = 6
    18k - 20k    = 6    (its better to solve like terms first)
                 -2k  = 6
                    k  = -6/2 = -3

Do you really need to solve it? If you consider k as a variable, even 6 grader can solve it. But if you consider k as a thousand, then this is a wrong equation(it's not really an equation, but wrong conclusion).

18k-6k-14k =6
(18-6-14)k=6
(18-20)k=6
-2k=6
k=(-)6/2
k=(-)3
