Post by: RJW on Sep 12, 2012
question 2-When ATP loses its third phosphate group it releases energy and become ADP + P. True or false

question 3- all enzymes are proteins, but not all proteins are enzymes. True or false

Thanks, you can answer one or all three but please only answer if you are sure.

1) Not necessarily; false
2) true
3) true

1. True. The bond is hydrolysed in order to use the resulting energy to do work, so it must necessarily "store" energy there.
2. True. Same as above.
3. False

But 3 depends on what level this is. There are things called ribozymes which function as enzymes but are RNA rather than proteins. However if you haven't encountered these yet then it might want a "True" for the answer.
