Title: What's a starch suspension? What would pepsin, HCl, iodine, & Benedict's sol'n test for in a starch suspension

I know pepsin & HCl break down proteins
and Iodine & Benedicte's sol'n determine presents of polysacchardies. But why would all 4 be used with a starch solution... and then heated?
