Title: What is the difference between hypertonic solution and a hypotonic solution?

Also what is the colour of ethanol(alcohol) used for the experiment that light is necessary for photosynthesis?
PS. I would prefer if any person studying in India in a CBSE school answer the second question.

not from india though:
hypertonic solution: any solution with a higher salt concentration than normal body cells so that the water is drawn out of the cells by osmosis; any solution with a higher osmotic pressure than another solution

hypotonic solution:any solution with a lower salt concentration than normal body cells so that water flows into the cells by osmosis; any solution with a lower osmotic pressure than another solution.
