Post by: jules_1978 on Sep 21, 2012
I need some names of chemicals that are included in different kinds of cosmetics and paints. That is the chemical composition of following cosmetics and paints.

Cosmetics:-
Hair dyes
Bleaches
Creams
Make-up
lipstick
perfumes

Paints:-
Enamel paints
Emulsion paints
Gloss paints
Spray paints

This is a little urgent because I have to do a presentation tomorrow.

Any help will be greatly appreciated!
Thanks!

Hair dyes: Hydrogen peroxide (H2O2)
Bleaches: Ammonia (NH3)
Creams: In sun creams you have zinc oxide (ZnO)
Make-up: (foundation) Magnesium sulfate (MgSO4)
lipstick:
perfumes:

Paints:
Enamel paints: Neodymium (Nd) as a pigment
Emulsion paints: Made of stuff that doesn?t mix but is stabilized with something else
Gloss paints: titanium oxide (TiO2)
Spray paints: isobutane as a propellant (C4H10) you also have carbon dioxide (CO2).

A good thing to try would be to grab some of this things look for the ingredients list (on the back or packaging or wherever) then Google something that looks interesting. The formula in brackets will give the chemical composition BTW. Good luck.

Try a Wikipedia or Google search on the compounds listed to give you more info.
