How can CFCs contribute to seasonal thinning of the ozone layer in the stratosphere?

Just 1 CFC molcule can start a chain reaction with one ozone molecule and in the end 100,000 ozone molecules will be destroyed.  You can imagine releasing 1000's of lbs. of CFC's into the atmosphere.  That would react with 100 million pounds of Ozone.
