Title: What are the similarities and differences of the processes of a limit of a point and a limit of infinity?
Post by: smrogers on Oct 11, 2012
I have an essay to write about calculus. The prompt: Describe the processes used to determine a limit at a point and a limit at infinity, explaining fully the similarities and differences between how each process arrives at the particular solution, and what types of solutions are arrived at.

All i really want are some similarities and differences between the processes of finding the different limit types.

Both the limit as x approaches a point and infinity mean pretty much the same thing - how the funtion behaves at a certain interval. Obviously you can get certain points, DNE, infinity and negative infinity as an answer to both. There are different methods to calculate limit - graphically and algebraically, and algebraically there's a lot more methods.
To be honest, I know like all about limits, but I would hate to write a paper....
