Title: Which star maintains a stable size due to hydrostatic equilibrium?

c. Neutron Star
d. Main Sequence

I know this sounds weird but I need help with this question for an upcoming science test answered. This goes under astronomy

it must be main sequence since the others all refer to types of stars in the later stages of their life when their size can and does change alot.  The Sun is in hydrostatic equilibrium right now which is why it is the same constant size.... i'm guessing that means it is a "main sequence" star.

They all do. It's the equations of state that are different.

Main sequence star, they are the ones that are in equilibrium.  Pulsar is pulsing out so it can't be in equilibrium, a supergiant is just that so it is not maintaining equilibrium, and a neutron star is way gone because gravity is so intense.
