they differ in their structure. the term is structural isomerism.
for eg, the alkane C4H10 has 2 isomers,

butane and 2-methylpropane. they only differ in the position of the carbon atoms.

there are 2 possibilities :
1. the only differ by the position of the double bond (e.g. 1-penthene and 2-penthene)
2. they can differ by the position of the a certain group (2-penthene and 2-methyl-2-buthene)

THey share a formula and some characteristics, relatively speaking. However, the actual number of carbon and hydrogen atoms affects the molecular mass, and several other qualities that make each one of them unique. methane cannot be used in an aerosol spray can, like you propane.

They have different properties. Even though they have the same molecular composition, they are technically a totally different substance.
