Title: What is a good book that describes climate variables for reptiles?
Post by: eecook on Dec 13, 2016
Hi All,

First off, my background is not in biology, so I apologize in advanced for any annoying comment.
I'm actually trying to build a DIY terrarium to have at home and host a gecko or even a turtle. I saw a lot of projects filled with instructions (wikihow & instructables, for instance). The thing is I don't see any citations as to where they got the data regarding climate conditions for different animals and I'm basically being skeptical about it since I don't want to kill the poor thing.
With that in mind and out of curiosity...
Are there any books that describe what the climate should be for different types/species of reptiles?
For example, this would include temperature, relative humidity, UV radiation dossage (when aplicable), whether it needs access to a water reservoir, etc.

Thanks,

Simon.
