Title: How can I find velocity and initial position given just position and time?

Given the equation x=vt+x0, and just position and time, how can I find velocity and initial position? My professor showed us something finding the solutions with an excel graph, but I couldn't understand how he did it, so if you could explain that too it'd be very helpful! Thanks!

The equation describes an object moving at a steady velocity v, and with a starting position (when t=0) of x0.

For example, suppose the equation is (with x in metres and t in seconds):
x = 5t + 20
then the initial position is 20m and the velocity is 5m/s

If you drew a graph (x on y-axis (  a bit confusing), t on x-axis) then the gradient would be the velocity (the gradient would be 5 in this example) and the initial position (x0) would be the y-axis intercept (the value of x where the line crosses the y-axis.)
