Title: What's the difference between cytoplasm and cytosol? Post by: datdude666 on Dec 9, 2012 Cytosol is just the solvent & the soluble compounds while the gel-like cytoplasm includes the matrix of insoluble cellular components.
Cytosol makes up about 70% of the cell volume and is composed of water, salts in solution and dissolved organic molecules. Cytoplasm includes the cytosol, the cytoskeleton, organelles, inclusions, and macromolecular assemblies dispersed through the cytosol and bounded by cell membranes but not the content of other membrane bound organelles. Nucleoplasm or caryoplasm is the fluid in the nucleus with the suspended chromatin and accessory proteins. This merges with the cytoplasm when the nuclear envelope disintegrates during mitosis and chromosomes condense for separation to the cell?s poles. Chloroplast?s fluid is stroma. Mitochondria fluid is the matrix. Endoplasmic reticulum fluid in the ER lumen is the reticuloplasm. Title: What's the difference between cytoplasm and cytosol? Post by: nursinggirlie on Dec 9, 2012 cytosol is that part of the cytoplasm when the organelles have been removed
