Title: Can the voltage drop across a resistor be larger than the voltage in? Post by: riyadamin on Dec 20, 2012 In a circuit with a capacitor and a resister using AC current, can the voltage drop across the resistor be larger than the voltage input. Since Kirchoff's law states v(t)= v(R)+v(C) it does not seem possible, however I have the magnitudes of the voltages so they have to be added vectorially.
