Title: Muscles and muscle tissue

3. Muscle-relaxing drugs are administered to a patient during major surgery. Which of the two chemicals described next would be a good skeletal muscle relaxant and why?
-Chemical A binds to and blocks ACh receptors of muscle cells
-Chemical B floods the muscle cells' cytoplasm with Ca(2+)

I'm assuming those are two separate options, if so, the first one 8)

If you flood the muscle cells with Ca++, you practically unlock the tropomyosin. Actin and myosin starts to slide into each other. Other words, muscle starts contracting!

--> B would cause discomfort over time...
