Title: What are my future job opportunities - undergrad Biochemistry and Cell Biology student?
Post by: smmoh4 on Jan 10, 2013
Hello, I am studying Biochemistry and Cell Biology and even though I like the subject I'm not very sure about my future.

What are my future job opportunities? And a side question - is it possible to get into bionics from the biochemistry/cell biology side?

If you're not going to purse a health career, you can find employment with oil companies (sorry im from Texas so that's what lots of biochem people here end up doing). Or you can go do research for pharmaceutical companies or other independent firms, which like 1/3 of bio and biochem students end up doing before or after grad school.
And you MIGHT be able to go to bionics, although that's mainly for biomedical engineers, who do lots of programming, which bio n biochem majors don't learn, so might be tough to get into that field.
