Title: How to identify an equation as linear, quadratic, or exponential?
Post by: jules_1978 on Jan 26, 2013
I need to know how to identify an equation as linear, quadratic, or exponential.  I'm given these three problems:
3x^2=5,  y=10^3x, and y=2x+23-14x
How do I determine what type of an equation these are?  The material I was given isn't helping much (as usual).  Thanks!

im thinking that:

3x^2=5 is a quadratic becuase of the ^2
y=10^3x is a exponential becuase the power will increase
y=2x+23-14x is a linear because there are no powers
