Compared to their wealthier peers, students from low-income families are less likely to attend and graduate from college. One reason, of course, is that students from low-income families have fewer financial resources. But another important reason is that many public schools in low-income neighborhoods are of poor quality. Three of the following characteristics are typical of schools in low-income school districts. Which characteristic is not typical?
A) Lower expectations for students' achievement
B) Outdated and poorly maintained equipment
C) Fewer opportunities to engage in advanced thinking skills
D) Little or no discipline for serious behavior problems
