It would be best if you posted it within the thread, since I can't open the document.

Allright.
7) Explain the crucial role of weak chemical bonds (such as hydrogen bonds, van der Waals interactions, and hydrophobic interactions) in the organization of living materials.

8) Indicate why the inorganic molecules O2 and CO2 are basic to life, and name the principal source of each of these molecules.

9) Describe the special physical properties of water. Specify the number of hydrogen bonds a single water molecule can form with other water molecules in ice; explain why water is a good solvent for ionic and polar compounds, but not for hydrophobic substances;

9) # of hydrogen bonds a single water molecule can form: three molecules. The "O" of one water molecule can bond with the "H" of another water molecule and the two "H"s can each bond with an "O" of another water molecule. Water is a good solvent for ionic and polar compounds, as it is polar itself. However, hydrophobic substances are nonpolar and thus, water is unable to dissolve them.

Hope it helps!
