Title: What are some possible causes of PACs and PVCs on an EKG?
Post by: juggler2020 on Mar 25, 2013
My son (10 mos) recently had an EKG that shows both premature atrial complexes and premature vertricular complexes.  We have an appointment with a cardiologist next month but I was trying to learn as much as I could before then.  What are some of the possible causes for these conditions that the doctor might discuss with us?

complexes or contractions? (i'm not sure if they're the same thing) There can be an ectopic foci, which means that a cell decides it's going to not follow the SA or AV node, and contract at a different time, then some other cells begin to beat with it, etc. I'm fairly sure that's how it works, at least part of the time.
