Title: What is the percent ionization of this weak acid at this concentration?
Post by: nvince on Apr 14, 2013
A 0.15m aqueous solution of a weak acid has a freezing point of -0.31 degrees C.  What is the percent ionization of this weak acid at this concentration?  The freezing point depression constant of water is 1.86 degrees C/m

0.31 = 1.86 x 0.15  x i
i = 1.11
1 x 100 / 1.11 = 90
% ionization = 100 - 90 = 10%
