Title: Re: The sperm chromosome maps are more likely to be DeP than DEP Post by: bio_man on Aug 14, 2017 The diagram makes sense to me, but I don't know how I would make this assumption. In fact, I am just as confused as I was when I wrote this post (https://biology-forums.com/index.php?topic=65489.msg804655#msg804655).
I am guessing DeP. Let me know if you want an explanation why Title: Re: The sperm chromosome maps are more likely to be DeP than DEP Post by: Pookie91 on Sep 25, 2017 This is the correct answer for your above question that I received after my assignment was marked:
Alleles for Rh-factor and RBC-shape are too close together for crossing over to occur; therefore, it is more likely to stay as represented. Alleles for the production of peptidase C are far from the centromere and many map distances from both other alleles. Therefore, it is likely to remain De, but a crossover may occur between P and p. (de unlikely to cross-over) Title: Re: The sperm chromosome maps are more likely to be DeP than DEP Post by: bio_man on Sep 25, 2017 Thanks pookie91
