Title: At what time does the stone hit the ground? What is the velocity of the stone when it hits the ground?
Post by: Fevn on May 8, 2013
How high is the stone 5 seconds later?
Remembering that the acceleration due to gravity is -32 feet per second squared,

A stone is thrown straight up from the edge of a roof, 925 feet above the ground, at a speed of 14 feet per second.

Assume the stone is thrown at time . You are given the position and velocity of the stone at time T=0, and you are given the acceleration for all time T>0  until the stone stops falling. Start by finding its velocity and position as functions of T.
