Title: I have several 22uf @450vdc electrolytic capacitors. I NEED 38-44 uf@400 VDC so what is the easiest way to it?

I am confused about the series/parallel with electrolytic capacitors. Is it add capacitance for in series, but half the rated vdc? Or is this for parallel? I just need to use the least caps possible to get around 40uf at 400 vdc + or - 50vdc.
