•   The danger is that a researcher may quote statistics in great detail to give an impression of scientific rigour; however, this can lead to the fallacy of misplaced concreteness, which happens when someone gives a false impression of precision by quoting statistics in greater detail than is actually necessary (“overloading” the details).
