Brazil nuts are found in the rainforest biome in South America.  A thin slice of one was treated with several drops of iodine.  It was rubbed on a piece of brown paper bag.  Close observation revealed that the nut had patches of blue-black coloring and the bag was oily-looking.  What conclusions can you draw from these results?

The brazil nut contained starches (iodine test)

The brazil nut contained lipids - fats and/or oils (rubbing on paper test)
