Why is the treatment of pagans different toward Jews than Christians?

  A) The Jews were treated fairly because they did not try to spread their belief, nor desperately try to alienate the pagans from their worship.
  B) The pagans had understood the existence of Jews for centuries, where the Christians were an upstart group that challenged the emperor.
  C) The Jews held positions of authority within the Empire and were therefore exempt from examination.
  D) The Jews recognized the pagan deities as integral to the community and honored them as such.
  E) The Jews worshipped Pagan deities as well as their own, fostering a kinship with the pagans.
