Title: How do scientist scientifically classify and name organisms?

And if it doesn't fit into an already existing category how do they name a new one? (What roots do they use? is it a description of the creature? Etc.)

And Is there some sort of list of requirements for each category?

I need this because I am designing an organism for a science project and I need a name for it.

Organisms are classified by their:
* physical structure (how they look)
* evolutionary relationships
* embryonic similarities (embryos)
* genetic similarities (DNA)
* biochemical similarities
