Title: Calculate female and male phenotype frequencies - X linked recessive
Post by: laila046 on Nov 15, 2013
In a population of 500 males, 60 are found to have color blindness, an X-linked recessive trait.

A. Calculate the approximate frequency of homozygous dominant Females.

B. Calculate the approximate frequency of Female heterozygotes.

C. Calculate the approximate frequency of homozygous recessive Females.

I calculated the dominant phenotype (0.88) and recessive phenotype (0.12) for Males, but I can't figure out how to calculate it for women. Is it double for women?
