Title: Does anyone have any secondary data for an experiment testing pepsin and temp?
Post by: louis123 on Dec 9, 2013
For my  Science Investigation twe had to test how temperature affected enzyme activity.
We tested 5 different temperatures 0, 20,40,60 and 80 degrees with 1ml of pepsin in each test tube and put in the corresponding water bath. After 5 minutes we took them out and added 3 drops of acid and 2ml of albumen. We then timed how long each test tube took to turn clear using a stopwatch. Has anyone got link to a similar practical experiment with results? I can credit you in my reference page if you have any secondary data that can be useful.
thanks i need it for tomorrow and searched all over the internet put haven't found anything related to this experiment.

You'll find that pepsin works best near the 40 degree range. That's the optimal temperature for most enzymes. Past that point, the protein gets 'denatured'. I've seen this lab done countless times, have you tried a forum search?
