Suppose your diabetic friend is again visiting two months later, and you find him
unconscious.  You're awaiting the paramedics, who seem to be taking forever to arrive.
Since you know that he is diabetic, should you quickly give him insulin?

No.  He may be hypoglycemic (too low blood sugar).  Insulin would likely kill him.  In fact, this is more commonly the reason of unconsciousness in diabetics.  He needs to have his blood sugar (finger stick) tested before any treatment(s).

If he is indeed hypoglycemic, the common household treatment is orange juice unless you happen to have glucose tablets for cases such as these.
