At the start of an experiment, a 1 M aqueous solution of NaCl is separated from an equal volume of a 1 M aqueous solution of glucose by a membrane that is permeable to water but not to NaCl or glucose. After a while, you would expect the volume of the glucose solution to have ...
a. stayed the same
b. increased
c. decreased
d. increased, then decreased
e. decreased, then increased

I would think it'd be A, stayed the same since the membrane is impermeable to glucose. Others are thinking that the volume of the glucose solution would decrease (C)...how would they suppose that?

What do you guys think?

It's written that the correct answer is in fact "decreased"...I just don't understand why. Can somebody help out please?
